Delanco Schools strive to
offer a well-rounded relevant education to our students. At the Pearson School there is a strong emphasis on
reading/language arts literacy and math. This focus continues through all
elementary grades. As students reach middle school, along with our core
curriculum, we offer other courses that help expose students to a variety
of academic areas. Students can take art, music, cooking, drama, computers,
Spanish and other enrichment courses in which they have an interest. There
are also several athletic and extra curricular activities for middle school
students. We have comprehensive basic skills and special education programs
for students who need additional support.
Our Board of Education members work tirelessly to ensure the very best
possible educational program for our students. We have an outstanding
dedicated teaching staff. They go above and beyond their regular duties
during and after the school day to help students succeed. Our
custodial/maintenance staff takes great pride in keeping our buildings in
excellent condition. Our buildings are regularly used by the community for
basketball, volleyball, scouting, dance and aerobic classes, community
band, township meetings, assembly programs and concerts.
This year we are doing renovation/construction projects at both schools.
These projects will prepare us for an influx of students from two new
housing developments. At the Walnut
Street School
we are renovating two existing rooms, creating a media center/computer lab.
A new addition will include a classroom, a small group instruction room and
a warming kitchen. At the Pearson
School a much larger
addition will include six classrooms, a gymnasium, a computer lab, a
full-service kitchen, a conference room and central offices. The project
will also include air conditioning and new heating systems for both
schools.
We are very proud of our students, staff and schools. We will continue to
work hard to provide our students with the very best educational programs
possible.
